Chrome Extension
Challenge

The challenge was to create a simple and easy to use chrome extension for users.

Overview

Designing this extension was a short project, the overall aim was to create a user friendly simple design that allowed users to get contact details for authors.

Process

Research

In the initial phase of crafting the Chrome extension UI, I delved into user analytics through platforms like Pendo, dissecting user interactions within our application. Analysing clicks on profile elements and discerning preferred information based on page usage informed the core functionalities of the extension. This involved identifying essential components like profile information, email functionalities, and list management to ensure a user-centric design.

Ideation and Wire-framing

With insights gathered, I embarked on ideation and wire-framing to conceptualise the extension's visual and functional aspects. Feedback from my team played a crucial role in refining these ideas, leading to multiple iterations. Once satisfied with a concept, I transitioned to creating a functional prototype that encapsulated the envisioned user experience.

Testing

To validate the design and address potential challenges, I conducted user testing. Opting for in-person interviews, I engaged users in discussions about their workflows, introducing the prototype to gather real-time feedback. This approach not only provided valuable insights into user perceptions but also created an opportunity for users to express their excitement about the extension's seamless integration into their existing workflows. The positive outcomes reinforced the effectiveness of the design solutions implemented.
